Wirral Egg Run 2012

The 2012 event will take place on Sunday 1st April 2012. We are currently working closely with Wirral borough council, Merseyside police and Wirral NHS to ensure that we can deliver a safe event for all

.

The route leaves New Brighton along our predifined 20 mile route and takes about 45 mins to travel to Clatterbridge.

It will follow a route through Wallasey Village Road (B5477), Leasowe Road (A551) to Morton Cross, Hoylake Road (A553), through Meols to Hoylake,(A540) through West Kirby, Caldy, Thurstaston, Heswall turning left into Park Gate lane towards Thornton Hough and then on to Clatterbridge Hospital. It is estimated that the run will last up 3hrs from start to finish on a rolling basis. please see attached map below.

The Route

The nearside line will be designated only for event traffic until the tail end vehicle clears each stage of the event. Whilst the event is running the offside lane will be opened as normal to allow flow of on-coming traffic, however there will be no right turns from this lane for the length of the route.

All side roads on the near side will be closed by a Temporary Traffic Road Order (TTRO) to ensure the safety of the events participants.
